It’s holiday time and the air on St. Eustatius is nice and crisp. Uncle Ishmail knows how to celebrate this time of year with a Christmas tree lighting ceremony. In this event, the whole island is invited to fellowship, which amassed to 110 visitors. The usual holiday delights such as tarts, potato pudding, double shutters and tropical drinks, were sold as fundraising for the Family Foundation.
The setting of the night was very festive where attendees could take pictures by the holiday manger next to big letters proclaiming, “Joy To The World.” And joy it was as we fellowshipped the night in island clusters spread throughout the field. We shared holiday stories of times on Anguilla, St. Kitts and various other islands in the Caribbean.
Music was provided by a group of carolers led by Marcelle Gibbs from our island cultural department. And as usual, a great time was had by all.
