Family Museum
In October 1990, The Berkel Family Plantation Museum was opened in commemoration of the birthday of the late Esther Wilson Berkel (mother of the founders of The Foundation). Had she not passed away a few months prior to this date, she would have celebrated her 100th birthday.
In December 1992, a replica of The Berkel’s parents’ home located in Oranjestad was built on Lynch Plantation and dedicated to house and exhibit furnishings, family photos and other articles. This was to preserve the family’s heritage for the benefit of their posterity, the residents of the island including visitors.
